PowerTrekk - the world´s first Water Charger:

Power anywhere, anytime - just add water. PowerTrekk uses fuel cell technology which cleanly and efficiently converts hydrogen into electricity. Users simply insert the PowerTrekk Puck and add water to provide instant power on the go via a USB cord. Unlike solar chargers, fuel cell power is not impacted by cloudy weather. Power-Trekk also has a portable battery pack that can operate on its own as a ready source of power or as a storage buffer for the fuel cell.

Users simply insert a 'PowerPukk fuel pack' and add water. The Power Pukk contains a silicon powder, sodium silicide (NaSi), when mixed with water, the combination generates hydrogen. The hydrogen is mixed with air in the fuel cell itself, and the fuel cell then converts the hydrogen into electricity via its Proton Exchange Membrane. The chemistry process is safe, controllable, and the only bi-product from the fuel cell is a small amount of water vapor. The PowerTrekk can output four watts, allowing it to power almost any smartphone, even if it’s dead. PowerTrekk and PowerTrekk Puck meet industry security standards and can be brought on an airplane passenger cabin.

The device will be aimed initially at campers and trekkers, but the company has been recognized by USAID and the Pentagon for the many possibilities this type of portable generation offers. Sigma's briefcase size charger (the DPS300) is already being ordered by organizations including USAID for vaccination clinics in remote areas.
